Finally...another update

Our Christmas was such a nice time. Nathan only worked one day each week before Christmas and New Years. It was so nice to have him home for most of the time! We spent our first week running all sorts of errands--getting our family picture taken, running both cars to the shop, etc. Nathan also took me out on a date to The Cheesecake Factory in Orlando. Hannah sat in her high chair and was a perfect angel the whole time!

Nathan continues to learn more and more about his new job at the curriculum. He's excited to learn new areas he can help grow the ministry. Hannah is also enjoying Daddy's new job. She gets to take her afternoon nap in his office twice a week while Mommy teaches for an hour at the elementary.

It's hard to believe that Hannah will be 6 months next Tuesday! She continues to bless our lives. She keeps a very regular "schedule"--sleeps 9-10 hours a night and takes one morning and one afternoon nap. She continues to develop an appetite for more "real" food. She's enjoyed baby cereal, green beans, carrots, and various fruits (bananas seem to be her favorite so far!). Her personality is also developing--she is constantly full of smiles and giggles! One of my favorite things is hearing her cooing when she wakes up. Physically, she's gaining more mobility each day. She now knows how to roll over in both direction and is constantly pushing up on all fours. She loves to take a new toy and study it, then taste it. Her favorite "toy" right now is her pacifier. She doesn't suck on it like most babies; she prefers to chew and gnaw on it. We are still waiting for her first tooth to pop through!

We've had an adventurous last week as a family. What did we do, you ask. We moved....again! Now, instead of driving 20 minutes to get to work/church, we live only 20 yards! What a blessing on the gas bill. The reason we moved is because the church is doing some renovations out at the apartments we used to live.

I've been busy teaching part time, moving part time, and being a wife and mother part time. :) This coming Monday, I'm going to start teaching a class at the high school each day, so I continue to stay busy. In my free time, I'm starting to pick up crocheting again (thanks to Brandy Panteleo!) and playing the piano (did I mention we got a piano at our apartment now?!).

The Lord continues to bless us in so many ways. One way is in providing for us.  Hannah was recently given a toddler bed as well as clothes for for this summer/fall. The Lord has also provided a lot of furniture for us. The only piece in our apartments that isn't ours is a small unit I use in the kitchen for additional storage and counter space. What a blessing to know that God's in charge of everything!

  1. Such a nice update, Dory! :) And I know that your hubby must be a real asset at his new work, as he is so knowledgeable with the computer and such. It's so nice when we get to use our talents for the Lord in our work and in our worship. :) (My hubby is loving his new teaching job, too! God is so good!)

    Blessings,
    Alesha
